  • Get bees options pros / cons.
  • Open hive / move among bees demo.

Class 2. 3 hours. Inspect many hives to:

  • Discuss conditions inside and out.
  • Practice opening / moving through hive / tool use.
  • Discuss hive health: brood pattern, bee genetics, behavior, comb condition, adult bees, food stores etc.
  • Demo sugar mite check.
  • Probiotics and mite mitigation methods.
  • To-dos to ensure bees don’t weaken / collapse.

Class 3. 3 hours. Winter Prep

  • Final full pre-winter inspection.
  • Feeding methods and pros / cons.
  • Hive insulation and probiotics.
  • Mite check and mitigation.
